Y'ALL!
When I tell you I'm shook? I'm shook.
Let me give you a little bit of background so you can comprehend the magnitude of my state of "snatched".
The Afropunk festival is a hub for POC creatives to come together, enjoy art, watch performances, and show off their individuality and freedom of expression through fashion. Afropunk Fest features different artists like SZA, Princess Nokia, Samphaa, Anderson .Paak, Lianne La Havas, The Skins, and many more. With the emergence of the Afropunk movement comes the celebration of the complex nature of black culture. This includes, but is not limited to, beautiful Avant-Garde Fashion trends. Every year Afropunk attendees don't come to play. This year, there were no breaks in the train that is slayage.
Here are my Top 8 looks from Afropunk Brooklyn 2017:
8. Loving the nose rings, loving the African print, loving the unapologetic blackness.
